Samantha Halfen, MA, LMHC

As a native to the Pacific Northwest, I love getting outdoors with my family and enjoying all the natural beauty that surrounds us. We are truly blessed to live in Washington State for it’s scenery, climate, economy, diversity, and progressive values. Even though I grew up here, I still find myself making new discoveries and I’m proud to call this place home!

Before I became a therapist, my undergrad focus was in business management which lead to my career beginning in the corporate world. Crunching numbers in spreadsheets was only so inspiring and I eventually decided on another route; to pursue my interest in psychology. During that time I supported non-profit mental health agencies which gave me a deeper understanding of how trauma contributes to mental illness. I also had the opportunity of taking a 5 year “break” 😉 from employment to raise my kids when they were little. I have found my breadth of work experiences has helped me better relate to clients.

My area of focus now is working with women with a trauma history who are healing from family of origin issues, attachment and relationship difficulties, or simply want to improve their coping skills during a stressful phase of life. In working with me, you’ll find I bring a personal approach in sharing of myself and humor to lighten what can be difficult topics to discuss. Feel free to reach out to me for a consultation to learn if we’d be a good fit in working together.
